AMD Catalyst 7.5 released

AMD has released a new version of its Catalyst driver suite, as well as a new version of its Linux drivers.

Among the improvements are improved OpenGL performance under Windows Vista with R580 cards, HD 2900 support, and D3D10 CrossFire--but only for 32-bit Vista. However, there's no sign of video decoding acceleration using the shader engine on the 2900 XT, which some said would arrive in 7.5. On the Linux front, 7.5 introduces the Catalyst Control Center for Linux, which should make setting graphics options on Linux as easy as its Windows counterpart.

Catalyst 7.5 installers are available for Windows Vista 32-bit, Windows Vista 64-bit, Windows XP 32-bit, Windows XP 64-bit, Windows Media Center Edition, Linux 32-bit and Linux 64-bit.
