Microsoft release performance-enhancing Vista updates

With some of the updates in the two patches relating to graphics, it's
worth letting folks know about a pair of pre-SP1 official updates from
Microsoft that fix some issues in Windows Vista.
Not available on Windows Update just yet, the performance and compatibility updates address graphics specific problems you might be experience on x86 and x64 Vista, as well as myriad other fixes and updates for non-graphics problems users have reported since Vista's launch earlier this year.
Early user reports seem to indicate the patches do what they say, and we'd love to hear from you if you've applied them to your system and you can see tangible differences.
