BFG intro new ThermoIntelligence GeForce models

BFG have launched new ThermoIntelligence-equipped GeForce 8600 GT models, aimed at the user who wants to improve on the better-than-reference cooler as equipped to most of the competition offerings.

The BFG ThermoIntelligence cooler design came about because BFG listened to concerns about the reference cooler's aural and thermal properties, and wanted to improve on it.

The result is a cooler which definitely makes less noise than the reference design, with improved thermal properties coming as a function of the cooler and the chassis that you'd integrate a ThermoIntelligence cooler into.

The press release let us know that the two new models are GeForce 8600 GTs, overclocked past the standard frequencies in all the major clock domains, for extra performance. Each new model comes in two sub-variants, one with 256MiB and one with 512MiB of memory.

If you look at the linked ThermoIntelligence site, you'll also see liquid cooled versions are on the way, too. We wait with baited breath to see what BFG do with those.

Both new models and variants have immediate availability.
