With only the enhancement of the backward compatibility publicised, this update is mainly a hotfix for the existing software. I can't connect now to the Warhawk server, and I haven't been able to fix it by shutting off the system or clearing the browser's cache. Not good. :(Re Blast Factor - you still do need some practice to do it right. But if you make the right movement, then it detects it much quicker.

Uh-oh ! I have not tried Warhawk yet (It's underneath the table). Hopefully Sony patch 1.92 with 2.x fast :D

I was able to connect to Warhawk after going to the network setup menu and walking through the IP configuration menus, then saving the setting at the end.

I did that too the first time Warhawk refused to co-operate but it didn't help. Somewhat curiously my active setting was now Wireless, even though I'm 99.999% sure I've tried it on Wireless once ages ago and then switched back to Wired.

Nevertheless, the issues are there and AFAIK no official acknowledgment from Sony or Incognito. I personally don't buy the "the servers will be synchronized soon" crap, sounds really really really weird to me that something like that would take a week or more.

Connecting just fine now. Seems like a little blip on the server side. I've left my box on as a dedicated server as payback for all the excellent games I've had. And as a break from folding!

Arwin is saying something similar: http://forum.beyond3d.com/showpost.php?p=1061303&postcount=87

Looks like they have a pretty major server-side change (This and Limelight).

Yes, let me stress this part:

I only now noticed the official login message that said the servers would be down on Friday (yesterday) to fix the stats issue, at 7 PDT, which is 3AM at night, which happens to be the time I was testing the connection yesterday.

Apparently, Sony has a set of instructions for fixing 1.92 connectivity problems:

It looks like Sony changed server and hosting site. So old URLs and DNS entries need to be cleared right away. Their firmware update probably forgot to do this.

I updated to 1.92 last night and immediately after logged onto the browser (to check B3D!), PSN and then Warhawk without any problems. And I use the browser fairly regularly - well at least once during a PS3 power-up.

I guess I shouldn't complain...

EDIT: I guess this has something to do with it: http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=82794

Apparently the changes only affected US and Japan users.

It is possible that all the caches and derived HTML pages have expired by now. If so, the system should work as expected.EDIT: 1.93 firmware update announced on PS3 official blog. Supposed to fix any lingering network issues caused by 1.92.
