The well-known Japanese developer Capcom announced, in its latest press release, its resolve to increase its presence in the PC market by proposing titles from their portfolio on Steam --Valve’s digital distribution service.

The first titles announced comprise "Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition", "Onimusha 3", two more-than-average PC versions of the PS2 action games, their sub-par quality may be attributed to the fact that they were not ported by Capcom in-house but by a low-cost third party development house. Lost Planet, recently announced for the PC and developed in-house by Capcom, will also be part of Capcom’s initial Steam offer. The fourth and last title of the list is the recently announced for Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network “Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix", a game with a name that not only perfectly fit Capcom’s nomenclature for their Street Fighter series but is also making pushing the boundaries of the previous record attempts for the longest number of superlatives and nouns used in a single title.

This latest move by Capcom only confirms the publisher’s publicised ambitions to extend its share in overseas market, considering the market more a more global scale. Capcom is on the front lines in the current process that forces Japanese third party publishers to expand their activities into the west in order to recoup more efficiently the large sums involved in the production of current generation games.
