According to sources close to motherboard makers, reports DigiTimes, come September, AMD plans to withdraw its Athlon line of processors from its single core offerrings and will propose new Sempron models for the entry level single core market.

It seems that AMD has already stopped taking orders for its 65nm single core Athlons and that only low volumes of 90nm single core Athlon are still being sold until September. Coinciding with the end of single core Athlon production, new 65nm 45W Sempron processors will be available from AMD:

Sempron:

  • LE-1300: 2.3GHz - 512KB L2
  • LE-1250: 2.2GHz - 512KB L2
  • LE-1200: 2.1GHz - 512KB L2
  • LE-1150: 2.0GHz - 256KB L2
  • LE-1100: 1.9GHz - 256KB L2
