Automation Element
This looks pretty nifty indeed for large scale projects - is this also needed for automated benchmark runs for the renderer? And besides that, is there any cool or common combo you can think of between that and Gamebryo's rendering engine that's worth explaining?
Randy Spong: Our automation technology will basically tie together the whole product process. It's a framework for automating and distributing the build and test process across a network of machines, as well as a powerful tool that collects and stores all the myriad logs, compile results and test results so that developers have instant access to critical information about the build.
We'll have a lot more to say about using automation technology in combination with graphics engines-at this point I'll simply have to say yes, there are many compelling links there.
Conclusion
We'd like to thank both Dan and Randy for some excellent and insightful answers, as well as Bennett Hazlip for coordinating our questions to him. Good luck for the future, and we're looking forward to Gamebryo Element 2.3 and beyond, as well as the other upcoming members of the Elements family!
