Intel release hardware VP driver for G965 under XP

Intel have released a beta driver for their G965 IGP that enables hardware vertex processing (supporting the vs_2_0 profile under D3D9 HLSL) under Windows XP. A driver that does the same for Vista is expected in the coming weeks.

Intel have tested the driver on a number of modern games under the Microsoft operating system, but there''s no word on how much (if at all) it helps performance. Titles tested include Battlefield 2142 and Oblivion.

If you game on G965, grab the 14.13 beta driver and give it a whirl.
