Overdrive Overclocking

With the X1900 XTX ATI offer a built in overclocking utility in their drivers known as Overdrive:

Overdrive works in tandem with ATI's VPU recover and failsafe systems, such that if it detects any overheating issue then it will automatically be clocked down. However, overdrive does put limits on the potential increases, which on the X1900 XTX are 690MHz for the core, and 800MHz for the memory. On the sample that we looked at here these clocks could be reached with no apparent issues, which represents a 6.2% core increase from the 650MHz default, and a 3.2% memory bandwidth increase from the 775MHz default memory clock.

The performance increases seen here are more or less as we would expect, with the less CPU limited cases giving a performance increase between the core and memory increases.
