Needless to say, the 8600 GE humiliates the 7600 GT here, demonstrating that it is significantly more future-proof than the 7600 GT even though it maybe isn't fast enough to use the DX10 paths of current and future games.

2xAA/16xAF + 8600 GE HQ

This is not a mistake: for some bizarre reason, the 8600 GE is faster with 2xAA/16xAF than without. Further testing indicated that AF had a very slight performance loss, while the 2xAA was responsible for the performance boost. The image quality differences were clearly visible in both cases. This makes the 8600 GE even faster compared to the 7600 GT with AA/AF.
