AMD Catalyst 7.4 WHQL Released

AMD has released an update to their ATI Catalyst graphics drivers, bringing them up to version 7.4 across most Windows operating systems.

Along with the usual litany of game and application bug fixes, this month’s drop has reported performance improvements in OpenGL under Vista for all X1000 family hardware with improvements as high as 30% when using enthusiast class graphics cards. Along with this release ATI has also updated their Avivo Video Converter software to run under Vista 32-bit, which is available as a separate download.

For those few of you running X1600 Pro cards with HDMI, be aware that this 7.4 release does not support your hardware so you'll have to stick with last month’s 7.3 release.

These drivers have been released for Windows Vista 32-bit, Windows Vista 64-bit, Windows XP 32-bit, Windows XP 64-bit, and Windows Media Center Edition. There are also new binaries available for Linux 32-bit and Linux 64-bit distros.
