ATI Mobility Radeon X2600 on HP Notebook

While most of the Santa Rosa announcements in the last week or so were based on Intel or NVIDIA GPUs, it looks like HP decided to use the upcoming ATI Mobility Radeon X2600 in their high-performance 15.4" Compaq 8510p Santa Rosa notebook. This is the first sighting of an OEM design win for AMD's upcoming RV6xx family of products, but certainly not the last.

The workstation equivalent of this notebook, the 8510w, has the choice between the NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M and the ATI FireGL V5600, both of which seem to support DirectX 10. On the other hand, the ultra-high-end models (Compaq 8710p and 8710w) both use Quadro FX GPUs.
