Intel, which is looking into entering back the middle-to-high-end GPU market in a form or another, would probably have to pass the second gear with its driver development schedules if it wants it desktop endeavour to take off since sources close to motherboard AIBs report, via DigiTimes, that the semiconductor giant plans on releasing its 2007 DX10 chipsets without final drivers available until early 2008.

Intel's new DX10 Centrino platform chipsets, GM965 and GL960, as well as its desktop IGP G35, expected to be released in Q3 and Q4 2007 respectively, won’t see final DX10 drivers until Q1 2008. However, the company tables on making available an alpha version of the DirectX 10 driver for G35 by Q4 2007.
