Xbox 360 price drops by $50

As expected, Microsoft announced that it has reduced the price of its Xbox
360 console by $50 on August 8, bringing the system's price to $349. Likewise, the price of the Core System has been reduced by $20 to $279, and the Elite has dropped $30 to $449. In addition, the Halo 3 Special Edition includes HDMI as well as a Spartan-themed console and controller for $399.
The move coincides with the release of Madden '08 as well as the highly-anticipated BioShock. It is still unknown whether this price cut is connected to the 65nm "Falcon" refresh.
