AMD announces unlocked midrange CPU

AMD has announced a second "Black Edition" X2 processor, this one based on the 5000+ model. Like the earlier 6400+ Black processor, this one is multiplier-unlocked, allowing overclockers more latitude in tweaking their rigs for maximum performance the silicon can deliver.
Now, if they'd just deliver one for 939 socket people. . . Pipe dream? Probably, but it seems AMD is making a point of going after some smallish niches lately, and a upgrade for the sizable and obsoleted 939 motherboard folks would probably be far more lucrative than the market this particular sku is aimed at.
The chip will be available soon, and at a small premium over the regular 5000+ model. Thanks to our friends at TechReport for the skinny.
