Serious Sam Histogram
Here we'll take a look at the performance of the boards over the duration of the SS:SE Citadel benchmark demo. As usual, the 'Extreme' addon options were used, with AF disabled. 1024x768, 1280x1024 and 1600x1200 resolutions were tested.

At 1024x768 we can see that the performances are quite close, with each of the boards following very similar performance lines. The GeForce4 wavers towards the end of the benchmark where the GeForce FX peaks quite highly; this may be a more geometry dependant area of the benchmark and the higher geometry throughput of GeForce FX is able to push the performance up somewhat.

At 1280x1024 we can see that the fill-rate differences between the boards and gaps are opening between them. The Geforce4 Ti has dropped back a little from the 5800 running at 400/400. The 400/400 5800 has dropped a little in performance relative to the 500/500 5800, but not as much as the GeForce4 Ti has from it.

During the first half of the benchmark at 1600x1200 the gaps between the three boards appear reasonably even, indicating this part is fill-rate limited as each of the boards have similar fill-rate differences. The later half of the benchmark shows the 400/400 5800 remaining a little closer to the 500/500 5800 than the GeForce4 Ti does to it, again indicating that the geometry throughput rates are coming into play here.
