Conclusion
The Voodoo5 PCI certainly does what it was intended to do, which is bring high performance graphics to an older platform, and on the side it brings speedy 3D to overclockers who would be melting the AGP version.
As with the AGP board, the PCI board lacks a software bundle, and any form of video output other than a standard monitor connector. It would have been nice to see some of the other T-buffer effects on a larger screen, but the only one widely usable at the moment is FSAA, and on most current TV's Anti-Aliasing wouldn't be very noticeable anyway.
To sum things up, the Voodoo5 5500 PCI is the best PCI board on the market,
hands down. It is a bit pricey, coming in a $299, but it brings performance
with it. Add to it anti-aliasing, and even people with a slower CPU will
be able to use most, if not all of the Voodoo5's power. So if you can't
do AGP and want something better, certainly give the Voodoo5 5500 PCI
a look. You won't go wrong with it.
