RivaTuner 2.05 released, supports new domain clocking for NVIDIA G8-series

RivaTuner has made it to v2.05, supporting independent adjustment of the major clock domains in NVIDIA G8-series graphics processors.

That means that the software is able to adjust the hot clock independently of the base clock. Before, G8-series driver clock adjustment tied base clock adjustment to hot clock (itself a 2x multiple of the cluster scheduler clock), but now the hot clock can be adjusted separately from the base clock.

Our analysis of G80 highlighted the main clock domains present in the chip family. Being able to clock the chip in a more asynchronous fashion offers users and AIB partners more flexibility in the performance they can extract from their own boards and future products.

Along with the new clocking features, RivaTuner 2.05 also better supports adjustment of R600-based Radeon products due to a code bugfix in I2C access routines, and there's support for more ForceWare driver releases in recent times by NVIDIA. For the adventurous, Unwinder has relaxed the limits on overclocking too, allowing higher and lower percentage adjustment based on detected defaults.
