The Tech Report are reporting that Sparkle have announced a DisplayPort-equipped GeForce 8800 GT.

The board sports one DP output and a DVI port, along with an analogue connector for component video. Sparkle replace the heatsink (for the better is up to you to decide) and tout the GPU's PCI Express 2.0 interface as a benefit.

We wonder who's DP transmitter they've augmented, since G92 doesn't support DisplayPort natively. Genesis', probably.

From the TR piece:

"According to Sparkle, the DisplayPort interface on its 8800 GT sample can simultaneously output three 1080p video streams and a 7.1-channel audio stream. DisplayPort is a royalty-free interface—unlike HDMI—but it still supports high-bandwidth digital content protection (HDCP), making it suitable for the transmission of HD video streams from copy-protected Blu-ray and HD DVD media."
